The BBC are apparently frightened by a Government and Daily Telegraph backlash to the “truth being well told” by David on the shocking state of UK biodiversity and wildlife. Very quickly though it dawns on the audience that the content has not been tailored or customised to the audience or event. A crime of well known pompous speakers who are captivating speakers. “I’m so self important I will churn out the same stuff I give every audience.” The slides, if used, are covered in indecipherable text, which simply duplicates what the speaker is saying and is quicker to read.ģ. A boring diaribe starts, continues and everybody just preys it finishes soon. “I will say whatever, however and the audience WILL listen” The content of the screen is arresting and feels customised to the audience and event theme.Ģ. ![]() From the very first words people sit up and take note, this continues through the middle and right up to the last words spoken. The speech is designed to capture and hold the audiences attention. “I Feel an obligation to earn an audiences attention.” Which of these three are you when you speak?ġ. I was at a recent event and watched one such speaker. Some speakers take this no-escape attention for granted and this is wrong, and we could even say, arrogant. Just because an audience of people are sitting facing you, with no easy way to escape, does not mean you have right to assume you have their attention or support.
